Electronic Invoicing

HMRC has published an updated version of [Notice 700/63: Electronic Invoicing][notice1] dated March 2014 to replace the June 2007 edition.

HMRC says this about the updated notice:

It has been updated to reflect the changes in invoicing regulations of 2013. It also contains revised content to reflect the technological advances since the previous version.

This notice gives advice on what you need to do to meet HMRC’s requirements for using electronic invoicing. How much you need to read depends on your requirements. If you are only going to produce your invoices as PDFs many of the requirements will have no impact, although it is worth being aware of them to ensure that you do meet them! No point running the risk of a penalty for getting it wrong.

Imports

HMRC has published an updated version of [Notice 702: Imports][notice2] dated March 2014 to replace the January 2014 edition.

HMRC says this about the updated notice:

Amendments have been made telephone and fax numbers throughout the notice and 5.4 ‘on behalf’ has been removed, changes to the VAT regulations has meant this has to be removed.

One for those that import goods from outside the EU.
